Children are always eager to learn new things. This DIY 3D Model of the life cycle of a butterfly is the perfect way to show them how the different stages occur from the eggs to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally emerges the delicate butterfly. The process from egg to butterfly is weather dependent. It can take about four weeks in warmer climates. The egg takes 5 to 10 days, the caterpillar and pupa/chrysalis stage each takes about 10 to 14 days before emerging as a butterfly.

The visual impact is far greater and so is the recall value, as against explaining it to them verbally. This also makes a great science project for school.
