Grab Some Food to Quickly Control Your Anger
Out of all emotions that humans go through, anger is the most difficult emotion to deal with. And the repercussions can also be terrible, if not taken care of at the right moment. While breathing, meditation and counting till 10 can help you control your anger to some extent, there is a simple trick that most of you may not be aware of.
Next time you feel angry and irritable, try this. Get yourself some food. Yes, we are serious. In many cases, anger is only a result of hunger and nothing else. In fact, there is a term to it. It is called "hangry", an amalgamation of hungry and angry. This is a phenomenon whereby you get irritable and short-tempered when you have not eaten for hours. You would have seen this among kids. While babies cry when hungry, toddlers and older kids tend to become moody and irritable for no reason when not fed on time.
This is how it works. Food, basically carbohydrates, proteins and fats, gets digested into simple sugars and amino acids. These nutrients pass into your bloodstream and then reach your organs and tissues. This is what is used for energy.
When there is a delay in eating, the amount of nutrients getting into your bloodstream drops. This leads to a drop in blood-glucose levels as well. When that happens, your brain perceives it as a life-threatening situation, thereby making you angry. This is the reason you feel irritable when you skip breakfast.

Out of all human organs, brain needs the maximum glucose to function well. That is why you lose focus and feel the inability to perform even simple tasks when you have not had your meal.
