Yesterday was a significant day in the life of Asin. After all, she gave birth to a baby girl. She has always been media-shy and she further became a private person after her marriage to Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma in January 2016. The news of her baby was a pleasant surprise for everyone as nobody even knew that she was pregnant.

Today, Akshay Kumar posted a lovely picture on his Twitter and Instagram account in which she’s seen holding Asin and Rahul’s new-born baby. The actor’s smile proves how happy he is with this development in the actresses’ life. “One joy which is completely unmatched… congratulations to my dearest friends Asin and @rahulsharma on the arrival of their little angel,” was the caption with this picture.

It’s no surprise that Akshay rushed immediately to welcome Asin and Rahul Sharma’s baby. After all, Akshay was the reason why both met in the first place! During the promotions of Housefull 2 in 2012, Akshay had introduced Asin and Rahul Sharma at the airport. During the course of the flight, Asin got talking with Rahul and liked his simple, down-to-earth quality. Akshay saw that both of them are gelling very well and even remarked to Asin that, ‘I think you two will be good for each other.’ Rahul meanwhile realized that Asin was the girl for her and Akshay helped in ensuring both met even after the flight landed. Later, Rahul Sharma expressed his wish of marrying Asin and the actress appreciated this gesture. She also added that she agreed to marry Rahul because he was self-made, just like she was, and yet he is grounded.

On the film front, Asin’s last film was in 2015, All Is Well, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, and directed by Umesh Shukla.
